Procedure for recification in bank account number

14 July 2011 Dear Members,

One of my clients has received refund pertaining to assessment year 2009-10. However due to incorrect bank account details the cheque which was directly deposited in to the bank was returned to my client. This income tax return was e filed by me. Kindly guide me as to the rectification procedure for the same. Also tell whether the communication is to be made to CPC banglore or local assessing officer?

14 July 2011 DO the following. You'll get the refund soon in the new bank account so specified.

1. Change the Bank Account Details in the IT Return and validate it.

2. Upload the xml file in the online rectification facility available on the e-filing portal.

3. After Uploading you'll be receiving a document to intimate about the change in Bank Account Details to be authorised by assessee.

4. Take sign of the assessee on the same and attach a blank cancelled cheque to the same and send it to CPC Bangalore by ordinary or speed post only.

5. On the receipt of the same by the CPC Banglore, they'll change the bank details and issue fresh refund after processing.
