Problems in filing tds revised return

29 September 2014 I downloaded conso file to revise TDS return for FY12-13,26Q,Q1. I want to change in Deductor type. Person who filed original return state:- S State Government in Deductor type, but accordingly to TAN No. LKNU04190E, deductor type should be N Locol Authority (State Govt), when I select Local Authority & try to save it ask for AIN No. which I don't have & don't know what is AIN no. From FY13-14 on wards I m filing all quarters return including 26Q,24Q but in original return it doesn't ask for AIN No. Payment of challan is always made by cheque to union bank of India. I want to know why It ask for AIN no. while changing deductory type in revised return, & in original return It doesn't ask for AIN No.

06 October 2014 AIN is an unique "Account Information Identification Number" allotted to each govt deductor.

If the status is S then AIN is compulsory.

08 October 2014 Mr. Nikhil, TAN No:- is LKNU04190E, Should I apply for AIN No. for above TAN. How to come to know the Status is S. UP Jal Nigam is a Govt Deductor. I think should apply for AIN No. In 2012-2013 I have received a notice for this.

08 October 2014 I believe deductor should already be having the AIN. kindly check with the client

10 October 2014 No, I have discussed with who is in accounts department.
