Planning for selling of shares

25 September 2009 if i have 10 shares purchased on different dates in my demat account. The first 2 shares were purchased 2 yrs back and rest of the shares are short term. as per rules shares goes out from demat on fifo basis.

Now suppose if i want to sell first my short term shares can i do so?
if not can i transfer my 2 long term shares to margin account with nse to get benefit of this situation for selling short term shares.after selling the short term shares i will take back my long term shares from margin account
please advice and for further queries do write to me

25 September 2009 If u transfer and after that Sale Share from balance the same is also treated as long term capital gain. you can't claim stcg in any situation.
