Dear Sir, my client has received demand order for Rs. 20 lakhs. Actually Client is nor much educated to understand the notices and he totally relied on to accountant. all the time he handed over notices to accountant but the accountant never attanded to ITO.
now we are in appeal for the above order. but AO has passed order for Penalty of 271(1)(b) for failure of 3 notices.
Do i have any option to save my client from penalty. also i request you to suggest case laws which can be reffered to fight appeal for demand of Rs.20 lacs.
What all you have to do is, make submissions as per ITO's requirement also furnish a reasonable cause for not responding to the notices. Penalty in this case may be dropped.
