24 June 2010 if an individual who is salaried person and have been allotted PAN no. fails to file return as his income is below taxable limit any chance for getting notice from IT authorities if yes what to do in such case

24 June 2010 If the Income is less then the taxable limit there is no necessary to file the return. even you get the notice you can reply. there is no penal consequences

24 June 2010 yes if the department think that the income of that persons exceeds the taxable limit then department can issue a notice on that person.

In this case you just have to simply reply the notice by explaning that you are not filing return because your income is below taxable limit.

You can also support your reply with Form -16 issued by the employer..
