I am having a CA office in a residential house taken on rent. The municiple authorities are objecting it as residential place used for commercial purpose. Is CA office place can be classified as commercial or residential for the purpose of electricity, water, municiple tax and shops and establishment act?

The establishment of office is definitely a commercial use at the premises. As such, the electricity, water may be charged at commercial rates for the total consumption for office and home if seperate connection has not been taken for office. Also, the municipal taxes may be billed for commercial use of that portion. Even a misuse chage is also applied in some of the states.
