DEAR EXPERTS, MY Brother is employed in a MNC,shipping Co.His appointment has done at Delhi office of the Co.But,he is providing service on Ship at different countries.His residential status is NRI. His remuneration is deposited in AXIS bank,Delhi,S/B A/C directly by the Co., after conversion of the money from USD to INR done by the AXIS bank.The Registered office of the Co. is in Canada. Now,PLEASE ADVISE ME WHITHER HE IS LIABLE TO FILE ITR ?,IF YES THEN IN WHICH ITR FORM? (NOTE-HE HAS NO OTHER INCOME IN INDIA EXCEPT S/B A/C INTERST. BUT PAYING HOUSING LONE EMI).

There is no necessity to file Indian IT Return if the income in India does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs per year. This includes income from all sources, investments, bank deposits etc which are taxable. Salary Income from Shipping co will not be taxable in India if he is an NRI
