First of all; go to the INDEX part of the subject.
Read all the sub-headings given in INDEX asking yourself whether you know something about it (apply your own knowledge).
While reading every part of law-section; again ask yourself whether the provisions are in line with a common man's thought and public welfare because law is meant for public interest.
If yes, then OK. Focus your attention only on those part where you cannot get some ideas.
Some hints are :
For example; while reading Contract Law you read that a person of unsound mind cannot make contract. One can ask whether it should be allowed when a person makes contract with a lunatic ?
The answer is no.
Go forward in this way and make the subject practical and interesting.
After reading a paragraph; ask yourself what are the contents ?(first instant revision)
After completing the topic, ask again what you understood from the whole topic ?(second instant revision)
Ask yourself whether provisions of a LAW is helpful in practical life.
For example; when you read NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENT ACT, you may find that according to Section 138; if a cheque is dishonoured; the drawer may be put behind the bars if a case is lodged upon him and he is not ready to pay within time limits prescribed. For this, within 15 days the aggrieved party has to get dishonoured cheque notarised and thenafter case must be lodged.
You can see the importance of above section in practical business life.
