13 July 2010 My banker had dedcuted tds of rs. 1550 from my term deposit in a y 2009-10. bank had remitted the tds by filing 26q and same had been recd by tin-nsdl next day.

By getting refund of incometax , i found that i was not crdited my tds in my pan a/c.

may i get the information from nsdl under right of information act?

13 July 2010 YES YOU CAN GET THE INFORMATION FOR YOUR TAX CREDIT UNDER 26AS FROM NSDL.

14 July 2010 RTI is of course a good option.
Bank must have issued you Form 16A for deduction of TDS. You can show a copy of the same to ITO and enquire the reason why you have not been given the benefit of the TDS

14 July 2010 IT MAY BE THAT YOU HAVE NOT PROVIDED PAN NO. TO BANK. BANK HAS DEDUCTED TDS AND DEPOSITED IT ALSO. DUE TO NON-AVAILIBILITY OF PAN NO, IT'S CREDIT IS NOT GIVEN TO YOU I.E YOUR PAN NO.
NOW YOU CAN SHOWN HARD COPY OF TDS CERTIFICATE PROVIDED BY BANK FOR GETTING CREDIT OF IT.
