05 August 2014 what is the meaning of gross amount (including service tax & TDS ) paid to M/S X Ltd.

Actually I got a letter from Director General of Central excise Intelligence to provide details of bills raised by M/S X Ltd to us.

05 August 2014 it is the total amount paid by you to x ltd.

05 August 2014 amount paid to x ltd is including service tax only. TDS is not paid to x ltd, it is paid to govt. then why the word TDS is used?

05 August 2014 If TDS is deducted by you on payment to X ltd, then you have to add this amount also.

05 August 2014 but the above sentence says paid to m/s x ltd and the amount paid to m/s x ltd is obviously after deduction of TDS. So should I include amt paid + TDS deducted both.

thx alot for reply sir.

05 August 2014 TDS is to be paid on behalf of the other party. This provision is made to ensure smooth collection of tax. You will never pay your money but you pay on behalf of other in case of TDS.

you should include.
