=See the sectors and companies in which fund is/to be invested. =What is the cash retention ratio for the particular fund? =Past record of the fund manager =Analyse the returns of the MFs over a period of time according to your investment horizon. If you are a long term investor then watch out for the MFs which have generated higher returns in long time horizon say 2-3 yrs.

A mutual fund is valued daily and reports a price known as a net asset value (NAV) per share. In its simplest form, a NAV is the total value of all the securities held in a fund divided by the total number of shares owned by its shareholders. As the price of the NAV increases or decreases, the shareholder's value will increase or decrease.

When ever analyse any mutual fund just go through reputation of mutual fund company there project manager, sector where they are investing etc. site also gives star to particuar mutual fund their are also view of experts and investor by that u can understand any mutual fund
