29 December 2007 Can anyone explain me what is meant by "Life-Stream systems"?

Regards,
Kirthi

12 April 2008 It's been long since you asked. But since it's open and if no body answers, it will stay in open questions, i have to answer.

Life stream systems are those which are essential to day to day operation of an enterprise. The key phrase here is 'day to day operation'. In the module, there are examples like pay roll, accounting etc. But in practical sense, these type of application depend upon the nature of the organization.

A system comprising of high level decision making can also be life stream system, and a transaction processing system may not be a life stream system.

It all depends upon continuity of day to day operations.
