28 March 2016 Dear Sir,

I have paid mediclaim policy for the Financial Year 2015-16 an amount of Rs. 25000/-for my spouse (wife & daughter) but not for me. My wife is working as a teacher but her earnings is very less not coming under tax purview. Shall I claim rebate u/s 80D from my claim.

28 March 2016 Yes you can claim deduction u/s 80D for premium paid towards wife and daughter.

28 March 2016 Yes Agreed, One of them can benefit of 80D.

28 March 2016 Ideally you should have been the proposer even if you want to cover wife and daughter.

But still you can avail tax benefit.
