Meaning of A group co's

This query is : Resolved

13 October 2007 wat does A group co..B group co..S group , T group company...Z group co ...nymore???wat does dis all mean??

13 October 2007 There are two types of Group Companies:
1. Companies Alltogether of the same promoting group.
2. A holding Company of one or more Subsideries

13 October 2007 A group company means the management of that company commonly have atleast 20% ownership and voting rights.

Usually if the Managing Partners of a partnership firm are also managing other firms in which their ownership and control is not less than 20 %, then that group of firms can be said to be a group of firms.

Likewise, companies also. If the 20 % voting right is commonly available in so many companies, then that group of companies can be said to be group companies.

15 October 2007 I hope You are telling about listed greoup companies. 'A' group Companies are included in the Sensex and Nofty Index. Other grps are made based on their trading, goodwill and market performance, will be put under B Group or Z Group. There is not other grop like S group etc... All the listed companies are either A Group or B Group or Z Group or may be de-listed.

01 November 2007 Groups at BSE are based on the Trading. You should be careful before trading in Z Group. A Group companies are called Blue Chip Companies.

02 November 2007 Sensex has 30 companies and A Group has more companies than that. But Sensex includes all A Group Companies in it.

09 November 2007 Thanks for the inputs

18 November 2007 I appreciate the gesture of Mr. Ravi Kumar.
