To get meal card benefit from company is Food Allowance necessary in salary structure( we don't get any food allowance or food equivalent allowance in our salary) ? or employer can directly deduct the same from total salary? What is the Income TAx limit for such allowance?

Income tax per se is silent on this. While food provided by the employer during the employment whether subsidised or not shall not be added as perquisite in the hands of employee, the same may be allowed as deductible expenditure for the employer.

Since income tax is silent on this issue; REASONABLE expenditure should be made. (This is strictly SUBJECTIVE. Arithmetic oriented person might find this irritating)
