My spouse is taking pvt. tuitions at home. She has gross receipts of Rs. 400000/- for AY 2014-15. The same was Rs. 325000/- for AY 2013-14 and Rs. 150000/- for AY 2012-13. We have been submitting income tax return using form 4. We are submitting return after deducting about 20% expenses from the gross receipts.
I have following querries:-
1) Is my spouse eligible to file return using ITR form 4S?
2) Do we need to maintain books of accounts?
3) If yes to point 2, than what books of accounts do we need to maintain?
4) What if we have not maintained the books of accounts so far for any of the previous years?
I request the experts to guide on the above issues.

Your spouse can declare her tuition income u/s 44AD @ 8% of gross receipts. In section 44Ad there is no requirement of books of accounts. However a register may be maintained month wise in respect of gross receipts so as to enable to prove that gross receipts declared in the return were actual.
