I have closed my business in Pune & shifted my residence to Bangalore.
I have paid all profession tax dues upto & including 2012, under PTEC, and got my shop act license cancelled.
Thereafter I made an application to Profession tax officer for cancellation of PTEC. Attached were the last 4 years PT payment challans, original PTEC and shop act cancellation.
However the PT officer refused to accept the application as he wanted last 8 years PT challans.
These are not available & may have been discarded when my office was closed. Anyway this information should be available from the Profession Tax official records.
Can someone advise how this issue should be resolved?

approach a lawyer for an affidavit stating the said records are no longer available with you for ...... reasons. Submit the same to the PTO.
