This query is : Resolved

18 February 2009 Dear members
I m working as a accountant in a private firm.one of our employee paying rent to the authorised person of NRI(owner).there is no rent receipt and PAN no of NRI available. In this case, is only affidavit given by employee sufficent stating the rent paid by him or not?
Means can he avail hra claim or not on the basis of affidavit given by him?
Becouse PAN no of landlord is madatory, Where as PAN no is not available in the above case..also tell me if the PAN no of landlord is not available then what proof has to be given to avail hra claim??

18 February 2009 in my opinion, on the basis of affidavit, he can claim HRA exemption.
further i think , PAN no. of tenant is required not for landlord

19 February 2009 thanx sir
but sir i think pan no of landlord is also compulsory for claiming hra..is it write or not??
also tell me what should be mentioned on affidavit??
