I have a query regarding claiming of HRA. I stay in a rented house. I do have an agreement with my landlord and also get rent receipts for every month. But my company is not accepting rent agreement which is made on Stamp paper of Rs 500.( non judicial) since it is not notarized or registered one.
So, for claiming HRA 1. Only Rent recepit will do ? 2. What kind of rent agreement is required.

Documents needed to claim HRA exemption
If the HRA you are claiming is less than Rs. 3,000 per month, no proof is needed. But if the amount you are claiming is more than Rs. 3,000 per month, you would need the following:
Rent receipts Rental agreement
Rent agreement is good document to prove the genuineness of the rent that you pay. However rent receipt is also a sufficient document provided it has been duly signed by the landlord with revenue stamp affixed and PAN of the landlord mentioned on the receipt.
