21 December 2016 If you want register your self under GST. Kindly wait for it until it become law. You can't register your self in GST right now. But if you already registered under Excise/Service Tax / VAT, then you can migrated your registration in GST.

28 July 2024 GST registration in Punjab is mandatory for businesses with a turnover exceeding ₹40 lakhs or engaging in inter-state supplies. Eligibility criteria include businesses with a turnover exceeding ₹40 lakhs, inter-state suppliers, e-commerce operators, casual taxable persons, non-resident taxable persons, and those required to deduct or collect tax at source. Documents required for GST registration include a PAN card, Aadhaar card, proof of address, and a passport-sized photograph. For companies/LLPs/partnerships, a PAN card, proof of business registration, proof of address, authorized signatory's documents, bank account statement, and digital signature are required.

To register for GST in Punjab, visit the GST portal, create a new account, fill the GST application form, submit the application, and receive an Application Reference Number (ARN). After submission, a GST officer verifies the application and generates a GST Registration Certificate. Post-registration, businesses must file GST returns, maintain records, and contact the GST Helpdesk for further assistance.
