Form 27A of TDS

This query is : Resolved

14 April 2023 hi,

just wanted to know in tds correction file if i change only 1 deductee details (that too only amount paid/credited to him part) then the form 27A will show only 1 record or it should show all?

07 July 2024 In the case of a TDS correction file (e-TDS/TCS correction statement), if you are making corrections to only one deductee's details (specifically the amount paid/credited to them), then the Form 27A (which is the control summary) should reflect only the corrected record and not all the records from the original statement.

Here's how it typically works:

1. **Original Statement**: The original TDS statement (Form 26Q, 27Q, etc.) contains multiple records of deductees with their respective details.

2. **Correction File**: When you file a correction statement (Form 26Q correction, 27Q correction, etc.), you specify which records are being corrected. You typically provide the entire corrected record for the deductee whose details are being updated.

3. **Form 27A**: The Form 27A is a control summary that summarizes the total number of deductees and total TDS amount from the corrected statement. It should reflect only the corrected record (or records) and not the entire set from the original statement.

**Reconciliation**: The purpose of Form 27A is to reconcile the total figures of TDS deducted and deposited with the Income Tax Department. It ensures that the corrected details are accurately reflected in the total summary.

Therefore, when you submit a TDS correction file for only one deductee's details (like correcting the amount paid/credited), the Form 27A should show only that particular corrected record alongside the updated total figures. It does not need to show all the records from the original statement unless there are corrections made to multiple deductees.

Always ensure that the correction file is prepared accurately and that you verify the Form 27A to confirm that it correctly reflects the changes made in the correction statement. This helps in maintaining accurate records and compliance with TDS regulations.
