My client is Senior citizen.By mistake he has been filed his return of income for A.Y.2011-12 at local Incometax office(manually)on 19.4.2012 with income from pension only Rs.241878(after dedu/Rs.100000 u/s 80c)S.A.tax paid Rs.200.then has filed his new return of income on 2.5.2012 with income from interest income Rs.38970 only (pension income not shown)& no any deduction claimed u/s/80c.but TDS Rs.7615 has been shown & Refund claimed as per TDS certificate F.16-A.
pl.tell me,what should i do for clear his problem ?can I file new Rewise return ? or Apply for it to ITO by simple application with new computation of income ? pl advise me.

Await the 143(1) and then file for rectification with enough proof. You may not be able to revise the return as original return is belated.

A person can not file two returns, each for different sources. It will amount to submission of inaccurate particulars and concealment. It will be better to submit the application to ITO stating facts, requesting to consider total income shown in two returns together, to avoid the penalty.
