FIRC certificate submission to RBI

This query is : Resolved

03 October 2009 I am a software developer who has clients abroad. I received dollar remittances into my bank account.

Do i need to make any declarations to RBI ?

I recently was sent a FIRC certificate by my bank (i dint ask for it), i haven't been sent this for any previous remittances. Do i now need to submit this with RBI ? I don't have an Import export code, because after reading around it seemed unnecessary.

I provide services to clients and have no
shipping bills hence, only invoices.

If i do have to submit the FIRC with RBI, how do i do so and so what all documents do i need to submit ?

04 October 2009 FIRC is just a certificate from the bankers that forex is received in your account .

Any info if required to be sent to RBI will be sent by your bankers . i dont think you are required to send any thing to RBI

04 October 2009 Thanks rajeev.

So basically all these formalities are only for exporters of goods who will be shipping them through customs and not for service exports ?

thanks
sid
