SIR some person having opinion , stipend income should be taxable and TDS should be deducted thereon.... But Sir as i see various decision in Favor of assessee like.... 1) ITAT chandigarh bench in the case of Dr. Rahul Tugnait Vs. ITO. 2)Allahabad High Court Decision in the case of commissioner of income tax Vs B.L. Garg 3)Karnataka High Court Decision In the case of A. Ratnakar Rao Vs Additional CIT.. in all cases Department take it as taxable but as the decision given in above case...it is clarify that quantum of payment does not detract character of stipend/scholarship.... and taxpayer may expend out of stipend income for investment, and create savings...... Please give me your precious opinion..... is this income liable for tds or not.... if not what procedure is to be followed for getting approval from concerned A.O. pls sir....

Sir, As notification issued for general exemption relating to not attach subsidiaries account separately with holding company, only stand alone and consolidate account is enough. My query is, such notification also applicable to those company which has only one subsidiary? Our auditor says this notification applicable to companies having more than one subsidiary but not in case of one subsidiary. Our company is listed one.
