Excess TDS paid

I have deposited TDS for the m.o. sept'09 in bank in excess of Rs. 9886/- so can i adjust the same with the liability of tds for the m.o. oct'09. which will be paid within 7th November'09 ?
and what would be the accounting entry ?

u can adjust that amount in coming months..but u have to adjust that amount under the same had in which u have deposited the TDS..
