Hi, Is there any formula in excel that will define the function of one cell depend upon the result of another cell. If the result of one cell is "Yes" then the formula in another cell will be executed accordingly, otherwise not.

Greetings Deepesh, "IF" function could be one of the options, but that totally depends on the scenario in which you are trying to put it. Also depends the variability of result that will come in the result cell. Please come up with a situation, may be i could help you with it. Regards
I am trying to program the calculation of Penal Interest u/s 234A/B/C in excel. Almost done with it. But when I am trying to automate the Cal. of Interest u/s 234B, not able to do it. The problem is when I check the condition of Total Advance Tax Paid during the year is less than 90% of Assessed tax". If it is "YES" then proceed for next step (i.e. calculation of interest) in another cell. But if it is "NO" then calculation should not be done.
Cell 1------->Cell 2
Cell 1 = Is Total Advance Tax Paid during the year less than 90% of Assessed tax? (Here, i am using "If" formula) Cell 2 = if cell 1 "YES" then interest should be calculated. / if "No" then no cal should be done. I want to automate this whole process.
