DIFFERENTIAL DUTY.

10 April 2011 Dear Experts,
We are a manufacturing unit with Excise register. We have opened a Depot in Bhopal. We are doing stock transfer with our Depot in Bhopal. Our depot selling the goods more that stock transfer price. In this situation whether we have to pay any differential excise duty? Kindly confirm me.

10 April 2011 Hi,

As per Rule 7 of the central excise valuation rules, 2000 the valuation of excisable goods sold from depot shall be

1.The normal transaction value prevalent at the depot shall be taken at the time when the goods are transferred from the factory to the depot.

2.The normal transaction value which is to be taken is the transaction value of the goods sold in greatest aggregate quantity to the buyers not being related to the assess and such price is the sole consideration for sale.
