18 January 2012 DEAR SIR,
WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SELF ASSESSEMENT TAX & TAX ON REGULAR ASSESSMENT

18 January 2012 SELF ASSESSMENT :
CALCULATION OF TAX IS DONE BY THE ASSESSEE AND PAID VOLUNTARILY BY HIM TO THE GOVT LIKE
A "GOOD BOY".

.
TAX ON REGULAR ASSESSMENT:
AFTER ASSESSMENT OF YOUR CASE DEPARTMENT RECALCULATE TAX AND SENDS A DEMAND NOTICE.
THIS IS PAID WHEN ADDITIONAL DEMAND OF TAX IS MADE BY THE DEPARTMENT.

11 April 2013 Sir appeal fees to paid under ehich minor head ? Self Assesment Tax - 300 or Regular Assesment Tax - 400 ?

14 April 2013 To deposit Appeal Fees either Major Head 020 or 021 (depending upon the tax
payer’s status) has to be ticked under ‘Tax Applicable’.
.
Minor Head: Self Assessment Tax (300) has to be ticked under ‘Type of Payment’ and
.
The amount is to filled under
Others in ‘Details of Payments’.
.
To deposit taxes, appeal fees, etc. in respect of block period cases, enter the first Assessment Year of the block period followed by the last Assessment Year of the period.

For example, if the block period is
1/04/85 to 5/3/96, it would be entered as 1986-97.
