The Code of Civil Procedure,1908 defines Decree as formal expression of adjudication while Order means any decision of a Civil court. [refer section 2(2) and 2(14)]
In simple, decree is a final settlement of a claim which comes on a plaint. While order does not settle a claim/right and may be passed during the course of pendency of plaint and may be on any application.
