18 April 2012 WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HYPOTICATION AND MORTGAGE???

18 April 2012 Hypothecation is to pledge personal property, or a ship, as security for a debt without transferring possession or title.

A mortgage is a loan secured by real property. A person who grants a mortgage either transfers title to the lender or permits a voluntary lien on the property.

18 April 2012 i.e. hypo is made on movable property n mortgage on immovable property


18 April 2012 Yes. Hypothecation is for movable property and mortgage is for immovable property.
