What is the normal timeline which CPC takes to process the refund of around 2.5 lakhs after sending the intimation u/s 143(1)? It has been 2.5 months but clients are not getting the refunds.

after intimation, it doesn't take more than a month but actually you would be receiving a cheque for this amount. So please check whether the address on record for income-tax. Possible that they issued a cheque but you didnt receive it or it was sent to a diffferent address (often the address is not updated in the system)

checked with CPC and they are still telling to wait....but my query was is there any circular/ notification about the maximum timelines for refund. Also there will be a loss to the assessee for the period of delay as the interest u/s 244a is calculated till intimation of notice date.
