Can I use an Inkjet printer to print Sahaj & Sugam Forms

This query is : Resolved

10 May 2011 Can I use an Inkjet printer to print Sahaj & Sugam income-tax returns forms or is it necessary to print them from a colour laser printer ? Secondly, in case I print Form 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. in black and white is it necessary to print the Acknowledgement (ITR - V) in colour ?

10 May 2011 the requirement is only color printout. It can be taken on a inkjet printer.

for Acknowledgement : the wordings are ....
"d. The Acknowledgement copy [ITR-V Acknowledgement] to be retained by taxpayer may be printed in black & white."

So in my opinion, color printout for acknowledgement is not mandatory.

10 May 2011 Hello Mr. Jha thanks for the reply one more query - As per my knowledge the Income-tax department is talking about drop out ink - would you be able to guide me as to what is drop out ink and is the ink in an inkjet printer or laser printer of the same quality ?

10 May 2011 I do no have any specific knowledge of drop out ink.

IT deptt has said very clearly that the forms should bear the standard color formats as given in the PDF file.

So in my opinion, the color printout by any color printer with standard inks (black/yellow/cyan/margenta) would be very much acceptable.
