This query is : Resolved

23 November 2011 Hi Friends,

One of my relative needs to submit some documents of his business to the sales tax and some other tax authorities. For this matter the documents are to be signed by a chartered accountant. I have a friend who isa CA working in a Pvt company.

My question is that whether a Chartered Accountant who does not hold certificate of practice can sign tax related douments for submitting to tax authorities/ and to banks etc ? Please reply

23 November 2011 If it is a certification work, then, it should not be authenticated by him and the same should be certified by a CA who is in practice.

Thanks,
CA M Sreenivasa Rao.

20 September 2012 If a non-practising C.A. signs any document, which is as per legal requirement to be signed by a PCA,it would amount to professional mis-conduct.
