Trademark brand was originally developed as a name, term, design, and symbol. Powerful brand can bring success in competitive and financial markets and thus become the markets valuable assets.
Trademark brand equity measures the value of brand to the trademark owner. The brand name is used interchangeably with brand to denote written or spoken linguistic elements of the brand. Brand name is a type of trademark which identifies the brand owner as the commercial source of products or services. The brand owner may seek to protect the proprietary rights in relation to a brand name through trademark registration.
Trademark brand is a device to create monopoly so that the brand owner can obtain some of the benefits to those related to decrease price competition. There are legal dimensions as it is essential that the brand names and trademarks are protected by all means. An existing brand name can be used as a vehicle for new and modified products. Individual brand names allow greater flexibility by permitting different products to be sold without confusing the consumer.
Thus naming an invention involves at least two names .one is the generic name (Example: hamburger) and the other is the trademark or brand name (Example: Reebok, Pepsi and coco cola).
