06 July 2024 When making a payment to a blogger who has raised an invoice without GST, here are the key considerations and things to look for in the invoice:

### Invoice Considerations:

1. **Invoice Details:**
- Ensure the invoice includes complete details such as the blogger's name, address, GSTIN (if registered), and your company's details.
- Verify the invoice date and number for reference and record-keeping purposes.

2. **Description of Services:**
- The invoice should clearly specify the services provided by the blogger. This could include details like the nature of the blog post, social media promotion, or any other agreed-upon services.

3. **Invoice Amount:**
- Double-check the invoice amount to ensure it matches the agreed-upon fee for the services rendered.

4. **GST Status:**
- Confirm that the invoice explicitly states that GST is not applicable or has not been charged. This is crucial for tax compliance and audit purposes.

### Payment Process:

5. **Payment Details:**
- Use the payment details provided in the invoice to ensure the funds are transferred to the correct bank account of the blogger.

6. **Documentation:**
- Keep a copy of the invoice and any correspondence related to the payment for your records.

### Tax Compliance:

7. **Vendor Verification:**
- If the blogger is registered under GST, ensure they have correctly stated GST is not applicable due to the nature of services provided (which might fall under exempt or non-GST categories).

8. **Accounting Treatment:**
- Document the transaction accurately in your books, noting that GST was not charged by the blogger.

By following these steps, you can ensure that the payment to the blogger is processed correctly and that you maintain compliance with tax regulations regarding GST. If there are any doubts or if the blogger's GST status is unclear, consulting with a tax advisor or accountant would be advisable.
