Billing with service tax

This query is : Resolved

10 November 2012 Dear Experts

We are a security agency & as per amendment we are liable to pay service tax @3% + cess & remaining amount is payable by service receiver.

My query is How to raise bill to client? Means we have to raise bill with service tax @3% or 12 % ?

If we are raising the bill to our client by 12% service tax & paying to dept by 3% (after 75% abatement)then how can we show in our books of accounts?

Please help us out.

Thanking You
Regards
Anil

10 November 2012 You have to bill your client service tax @3.09% and you will be paying the same to service tax department.

10 November 2012 As per the service tax rules, invoice must show full service tax it does not mean you should charge service tax.

Charge and account for service tax of your portion.

But show the remaining service tax as payable by service receiver.
