When a GST registration is cancelled due to non-filing of returns and subsequent unsuccessful attempts at revocation, here are the steps you can take to reinstate the registration:
1. **Review Reasons for Rejection**: First, review the reasons provided for the rejection of the revocation application. This will help understand the specific issues that need to be addressed.
2. **Compliance Check**: Ensure all pending returns are filed along with any applicable late fees or penalties. This is crucial because GST authorities typically require compliance with all filing obligations before considering a revocation.
3. **Correct any Errors**: If there were any errors in the previous revocation application or discrepancies in filing, rectify them. Ensure all required documents and information are accurate and up to date.
4. **Reapply for Revocation**: Submit a fresh application for revocation of cancellation through the GST portal. Provide all necessary documents and explanations supporting your case for reinstatement.
5. **Follow Up**: After submitting the application, monitor the status regularly on the GST portal. If there are any queries or requests for additional information from the tax authorities, respond promptly to avoid delays.
6. **Engage with GST Helpdesk**: If needed, engage with the GST helpdesk or reach out to the jurisdictional GST officer for guidance and assistance. They can provide specific instructions based on your case and jurisdiction.
7. **Seek Professional Assistance**: If the situation is complex or if previous attempts have been unsuccessful, consider seeking assistance from a qualified GST practitioner or consultant who can provide tailored advice and assistance in navigating the process.
