Two private limited companies intending to be amalgamated w.e.f. 01-04-2007 (x and Y). i.e. y shall be amalgamated into x and now x shall continue for life. They are supposed to file their papers before High Court next week. Now, Advance tax needs to be paid in which company now,i.e. x shall pay for x and y or x and y shall pay independently

As per my opinion, If amalgamation process is not completed, Advance tax payment have to be made by Two companies as there is no new compny came into existence still.
The Amalgamation Process is not still compelte as the company is going to file the papers next week. The Existing state of the entity is two different companies x and y.
advance Tax is to be paid individually by x and y and not the company which is still to come up
