Yes, according to the regulations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), if you are pursuing another course such as ICWA (now known as ICMAI), you are required to seek permission from ICAI. This permission is necessary to ensure that there are no conflicts or issues regarding your commitment to your articleship and the CA course.
Since you have already completed more than 2 years of your articleship and are about to register for the ICWA Final, it's important to regularize your situation with ICAI. Here's what you should consider doing:
1. **Seek Permission from ICAI**: Contact your regional ICAI office or the appropriate authority to seek permission for pursuing the ICWA Final course concurrently with your CA articleship. You will likely need to provide details of your ICWA registration and the stage you are currently at in both courses.
2. **Provide Necessary Details**: Prepare a formal application stating your current status in both courses, including the dates of registration and examination clears for IPCC and ICWA Inter. Mention that you have already completed more than 2 years of articleship and intend to register for the ICWA Final shortly.
3. **Compliance with Regulations**: ICAI will review your application and determine whether to grant permission. It's important to comply with their requirements to avoid any complications regarding your articleship or future certification.
4. **Follow Up**: After submitting your application, follow up with ICAI to ensure that your request is processed in a timely manner. Keep copies of all correspondence and any permissions granted for your records.
By taking these steps, you can ensure that you are in compliance with the regulations of both ICAI and ICMAI (formerly ICWAI) and continue your professional education without any issues.
