HI,
Suppose If the employee arrange travel through a hired or rental car & not by any other mode of transport.
Whether such hire charges will allowed as deduction while computing Taxable LTA if the receipt of car hire charges is provided?

an employee can not travel by hired or rented car, say from Kolkata to Delhi, instead of through rail or by air and claim hire charges as LTA. this is illogical. hire charges can be allowed for a short distance, say delhi to Noida

If you arrange travel through a hired or rental car, the receipt from the travel agency or car rental agency is to be provided to avail LTA.
