Urgent query- help required

If security guards in a company work 30 days in a month continuously for 12 hours each day without overtime, will it lead to violation of any labour law or any other law. The company is not engaged in manufacturing and workers so employed is less than 20.

Hi Ankit,

Find attached Karnataka State Shops & Establishments Act which says about hourly requirement and also about wages. you need to check in similar lines for your respective state as applicable.

In your case, as you have mentioned Factories Act is not applicable. however, you need to check in that whether security guards are treated as employees under above Act applicable to your state.
