full exemption from excise upto the first clearances of Rs. 150 lacks, starting from 1st April. If your turnover is 90 lakhs, you need to give intimation to the department.

Suppose if someone is doing different kinds of bussinesses under one company/firm such as
(i) Job work for fabrication for a government company (Turnover: say about 75 lacs)
(ii) Freight/Transportaion (Turnover: say about 20 lacs)
(iii) Contractor for PWD (Turnover: say about 150 lacs)
(iv) Trading of different items (Turnover: say about 55 lacs)
and say the combined turnover from different buissenesses for the same company/firm is about 3 crores
So in this case, is it necessary for the firm to obtain central exice number. And what are the limits for the above mentioned bussinesses and for the combined bussiness

First identify that the goods is fall under excisable goods in tariff if goods fall under excisable then consider previous year turnover should not be more than 4 crore and current year turnover 1.5 crore there is no need of registration with central excise
