There is no guarantee that a rank will get you success in life.
A rank is only useful for the first or max the second job. After that the ONLY thing that is seen is
- how and what you have performed in the earlier job,
- what you have learnt there and
- how that can help the new organisation
Getting a rank in CA is incredibly tough and we should all salute the rankers. Extreme hard work and perseverance can only get you a rank.
One should not blindly follow them because their views in life may be very different from yours. Make your own goals and follow them. A rank is not the be all and end all of career success. Your desired path may not require a rank as such a crucial pre-requisite.
Maybe if the ICAI can collect information on the rankers of the past fifteen years and see where and how their career has fared, only then one can form an opinion about how important a rank is.
Something like most or rather many of the IIM-A graduates are today CEOs and MDs of top companies, and vice versa and hence one can conclude IIM-A people are truly fantastic. Similarly if we find that CA rankers are indeed at the top in major companies, or doing successful practice, then one can conclude that the CA rank does have value.
