Tds on service tax...

Gentlemen,

May I have the rule which says that TDS is to be deducted on SERVICE TAX..My ITO says TDS is to be deducted on service tax.

Yes, TDS is required to be deducted on Service tax as well...

Strange but YES TDS is deducted on Service tax as well..

Yes we have to TDS on Service Tax amount also, only exception is TDS to be deducted on Rent paid. In that case TDS has to be deducted on amount excluding Service Tax as per circular no 4/2008, dated 28-04-2008.

Doesnt that lead to double taxation? Calculation: (100+12.360=112.36 and tds on 112.36 rt?

Excepting 194i tds is to be dededucted onevery element of service tax rt?fffThanks Gentlemen.

We purchased asoftware along with its kit.The vendor clained CST and Service Tax.TDS to be deducted on total value minus CST. Am I Rt? Further I am of the opinion that every service Tax attracts TDS... Am I right??
