Whether TDS is deductible on payment for printing of visiting cards, job cards, letter pads etc?

See whether it is a Job work kinda, otherwise forget about deducting TDS. one more Criteria is whether VAT or Service tax is Charged in the invoice
. If SERVICE tax is charged Deduct TDS i or f VAT is charged Dont Deduct TDS

No VAT/Service Tax is charged by the printing press company.

You just verify that is it a contract............if it is then TDS is deductible u/s 194C
But keep the Limit of Rs. 20000 per bill and Rs. 50000 aggregate in mind

Even if VAT is charged by sales tax TDS is deductible on this. This is because stationery printed for you can only be used by you. Likewise even if you get any article with your name printed on it, TDS is applicable. It is better you show invoice for article and seperate bill for the printing charges and deduct TDS on that.

TDS ON CONTRACT UNDER SEC 194C defintley if service tax is charged and even if vat is charged provided your letter heads and pads have your company logo or name engraved on it

i need to confirm that if invoice show service tax then TDS will be deducted and if invoice show VAT then TDS will not be deducted. is it true? i m not sure.
as per my knowledge TDS should be deducted in both cases.

yes pawan You are right even if vat is charged TDS to be deducted but only thing is such kind of letter pads,visiting cards should have the company name or logo engraved .For example if such letter pad,visiting cards are plain with no logo or company name embossed on it on which vat is charged in such a case no TDS be deducted as it is a pure sale
