I have E- filed the ITR for the financial year 2008-09 on 24.01.2011 for Individual.

But i forgot to claim deduction under section 80C.

Now what can i do.

We have to sign the E-filed acknowledgement and send to Banglore only then the return is valid??

So now can i file the return manually. so that if i dont submit the E-filed acknowledgement to Banglore then the original return will automatically turn invalid.

Is this ok??

No… you can not revise belated return. One more thing belated return time of f.y. 08-09 has over.

Ya, we cannot revise the belated return, But this return will be considered as filed only when i send the signed copy of the acknowledgement to Banglore because i have done E-filing.

And belated return we can file till one year from the end of the assessment year na .i.e. 31.03.2011

Belated return is valid upto 31.03.2010.

I think Kalpesh is correct. Belated return for financial year 08-09 can be filed upto 31.3.2011. And the scheme proposed by Kalpesh seems to be ok. The ereturn will become invalid if you do not send the signed copy and you can file the belated return as original manually.
