No departmental clarification is there on this isse as the codes were restored for statiscal purpose, but you have get ST2 amended.

I agree with Parmita Mazumdar.The department has restored the accounting codes for services as they can track the tax collections from various services.
Recently i had applied for service tax registration and i had selected "services other than services in the negative list" as category of service.Two days back i have received a mail from department asking me to amend my ST-02.
So we have to obtain registration for all the services that we intend to provide.
GSTR 9 and 9C for FY 23-24 as amended by Notification 12/2024 dated 10th July 2024(with recording)
