As per ICAI a student has to attend atleast 5Hours of ICAI events.

Yes there is provision of self declaration of 5 hours particularly for icai events,there is no prescribed penalty given by icai though it can cause delay in your registration for finals and if not,you have to submit all necessary documents according to ICAI at the time taking your final certificate so it is advisable to attent any conference,study groups etc.Detail you can find in the link below

I am already registered for Finals , and my first year of articleship is already completed now I can do it only for further years. Thats why I was asking about consequences of non compliance for the 1st year.
