Faiz,

Your attention is drawn to the following points raised by you -

Its we students who can learn much better than spoon feeding.. No doubt CA study material is not up to mark, but there are resources through which we can learn...
None of us denied that, we all are doing it. There is no question of spoon feeding, read my previous posts I have explained it.

CA materials are not upto mark but there are things which are not there anywhere.. They do provide a good amount of knowledge.. At the same time it should be updated with good presentation.
I understand that one cannot learn everything from books at the same time books cant have everything. Again every firm can’t offer all work exposure. Learning can happen through books, experience primarily. ICAI books are outdated and not upto the mark, and their rules prevent us from taking the experience we want…what is ICAI doing is the question. We can refer to the resources as you rightly mentioned. I have said the same things many times in my earlier posts that students can do everything on their own, but what is ICAI’s role in development of students that’s my question? They are just creating barriers for us.
Not having many things in syllabus and training is acceptable. But having outdated, bogus and dubious things is not acceptable.

what is being done by ICAI is satisfactory at least to me in terms of genuine overall welfare of students and members.
Please explain what is being done by ICAI?

For that, be ready to learn from whatever be the source. Opportunity always knocks silently, its we who have to grab it and learn it....
For your kind of information we are already learning from many sources. Many of us are already pursuing additional courses.

Since we are into CA one should be atleast that smart to search for a firm where one get a good exposure... just a little smartness is required to take such decision..
Please tell how can a 12th std pass student come to know which firm is good or bad, which firm will give good exposure? Seniors can guide him and he can start, but what if he doesn’t feel comfortable after that?

We as a CA should think always" How things are to be done or how anything is to be achieved ethically" rather than crying over what we see in front of us...
Thanks for the gyan, we are not crying in what is there. I have just tried to figure out the role of ICAI in students/members development. You are talking about change and on the other hand asking us to stop discussing. How will the change come? You are going to bring about the change? You are giving all these advices to us, what are you trying to say, that we should leave things as they are, not try to change them, adjust and make our way out of it??? That’s what all have been doing, and that’s one reason nothing has changed. We want a change, and I bet I will surely bring about it one day.

I advice you to read your post again, before making any personal remarks about me and other friends by saying that we feel we know everything (which none of us have ever said directly or indirectly), kindly understand that your three fingers are pointing at you.

I am not saying about CA members; we can't stereotype that. Even some doctors are criminals. I am saying apex accounting body is composed some thugs. This is something serious.

Professional courses are meant to equip the students with knowledge which is relevant to working parlance. Case studies have been an effective way to provide a 'feel' of same to aspiring professionals.

Professional bodies like ICAI, ICWAI & ICSI should take lead here and revamp their respective courses to have an adequate mix of case studies. Already these bodies have a sound body of theoritical subject base which they constantly revise.

This will benefit students in many ways.

Firstly every student can't get complete exposure in all areas accounting, b-laws, audit and costing & financial management etc.  Case study approach will provide an opportunity to understand what the situation are there in real work even when students may not get such opportunities during articleship.

Secondly, this will ensure that students are better equipped to integrate all the subjects while attempting the case study. This will go a long way to render them comprehensive professioanal services while at work place.

Lets hope our premier professional bodies respond to evovling teaching techniques.

Case studies kaisa hoga woh toh future bataegaa? ICAI has made majority of its students pessimistic. Doesn't case studies in MBA mean visiting some organisation(business or non-business) and carrying out research there on various topics that they have learnt during management?(correct me if i am wrong) For example: SWOT analysis of XYZ Company We all know how ITT has been managed by ICAI? 100 ghante bolte hain parr 4000 lekey 40 ghante karwate hain. Wahe guru knows what case studies of ICAI will be. MAy be Amarjit Chopra is gonna challenge Harvards.
