 Ok Fatema...I have been taught abt commuted pension in sec 89..but not gone thru the word uncommuted..And its true than uncommuted pension is taxable for al..But does the book also say that 89 relief cant be applied there??If so wait for an expert advice

As i said all what i have studied is its applicable for any portion of salary ..Dint study any word as to anything in the explanation of salary was excluded from that relief...so only i gave u the last post

The book does not talk about any relief in case of uncommuted pension.

 yea..the word is not at al there...so as its a part of salary and as sec 89 is applicable for any portion of salary i guess it can be claimed...cant it be treated  like any other normal taxable payment u get under salary on which the relief can be applied...i hope so dear...bein a pcc student u always have the option of askin ur sir right
